The Australian Government will consider the findings of the Defence Strategic Review before deciding on the tender for the LAND 400 Phase 3 Infantry Fighting Vehicle project.
The Review will make recommendations on priorities for investing in Australia’s defence capability and posture, to meet the nation’s security challenges over the next decade and beyond.
The Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Pat Conroy MP, said it is responsible for the decision on a procurement worth between $18 billion and $27 billion to be informed by the findings of the Review.

Members Win Contracts for Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM) Program.
ADA Vic would like to congratulate its members Ronson Gears and Rosebank Engineering for being two of the six Australian SMEs awarded contracts by BAE Systems as part of the delivery of critical hardware and software sub-assemblies into the global Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM) program. The companies have been contracted to manufacture and supply parts into BAE Systems’ manufacturing facilities at Edinburgh Parks in South
Australia.
The ESSM is a medium-range, surface-to-air missile developed to protect warships from advanced anti-ship cruise missiles. BAE Systems Australia is the Australian industry lead in the NATO ESSM Consortium which oversees the program of up to 12 nations including the United States, Australia, Canada and Norway.
Coolon was recently announced as Resources and Energy 2022 Winner in the Australian Export Awards. The award is given for outstanding international success in the production, processing, value adding of extractive resources or provision of equipment, services or solutions related to the resources and energy sectors.
Advanced electronics manufacturer Coolon supplies premium LED lighting solutions to the mining, defence and architectural sectors. The company is redefining safety and productivity within
industrial applications across several export markets.

Swinburne University’s Aerostructures Innovation Research Hub (AIR Hub) will develop and trial Australia’s first hydrogen-propelled drone thanks to the Commonwealth’s Emerging Aviation Technology Partnerships program. The first

Titomic has launched a new 3D printer, the Titomic D623 medium-pressure cold spray 3D printer. The company has received purchase orders worth $270,000 from German and Spanish companies for the systems which complement its existing D523 printers. See more here.
Hanwha Defense Australia (HDA) and Elbit Systems of Israel have agreed to support the Redback turret, built in Australia, for the global market. Call for Submissions: Cyber Autonomy Gym for Experimentation (CAGE) Challenge 3 (CC3). The

Industry Opportunities & Work Packages
In partnership with the Victorian State Government, Lockheed Martin Australia manages a secure facility designed to enable Victoria’s innovation community to better engage with classified Defence and National Security programs. The first facility of its type in Australia, the Victorian Common User Facility is a key initiative in creating new business opportunities for Victoria’s innovation sector.
Australian Defence Export Office Pitch Training Program
The ADEO, in partnership with Marketing Entourage, have created a five week online pitch training program specifically for businesses looking to export defence and dual use goods and services. This training is fully subsidised for Australian Defence Industry businesses.
The program is specifically designed to improve the chances of success for Australian defence industry companies when engaging with opportunities to pitch their capabilities to foreign military and military suppliers. The training is delivered through a series of webinars, online modules and one-to-one pitch practice sessions.
Australian Defence Industry businesses are encouraged to apply by registering their interest at the link below. Multiple people from the same business can be included as a single application. Limited spaces are available on each cohort and the ADEO will prioritise businesses who have recently participated in an industry delegation with TDA.
