Enabling Members to do Better Business in Defence

October 2021 is Cyber Security Awareness Month
Hi there,

Australians are urged to take simple steps to better protect themselves from common online threats and cybercrime during Cyber Security Awareness Month this month. The 2021 theme is: “Do your Part. #BeCyberSmart.”

Assistant Minister for Defence, the Hon Andrew Hastie MP, said the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) continues to make it easier for Australians to strengthen their cyber defences through new personal security guides available on cyber.gov.au.
To make sure the damage from COVID is minimised there are two messages from the Government:

  • If this latest lockdown is having an impact on your ability to deliver on defence related contracts you should contact Defence’s COVID-19 Task Force Industry Support Cell on covid19.isc@defence.gov.au
  • and "Get Vaccinated"

Innovate to Grow

The Australian Space Agency has sponsored the CSIRO to run a space themed Innovate to Grow (I2G) program.

  • The CSIRO’s Innovate to Grow (I2G) program is an online 10-week, highly customisable and facilitated program which helps up to 30 SMEs in key sectors or regions better understand, leverage and connect with R&D.
  • The I2G is designed for established SMEs who are either interested in understanding their R&D opportunities or are in the early decision-making stages about engaging in an R&D project with a research organisation.
  • With the help of experienced researchers and innovation experts, participants identify real technical and/or business challenges, explore what R&D and innovation opportunities exist to overcome those challenges, and develop actionable business and funding plans to activate those opportunities.
  • If you are interested in the space programme please forward your details and a contact using the link below by COB 15 October 2021.
For more information about other Innovate to Grow programmes can be found on the CSIRO website here.
