We are delighted to announce that the Minister for Defence Industry (MINDI), the Hon. Melissa Price, will be the guest speaker at our BD After 5 Event, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm, on Thursday, 24th March 2022.

This is a great opportunity to network over drinks and canapes with SMEs, Primes and representatives from CASG and to hear directly from the Minister regarding the latest developments in Defence Industry.

The event will take place at Batman's Hill on Collins in Melbourne's CBD just opposite Southern Cross Station.

Tickets are $45 for ADA-Vic Members and $66 for non-Members.

Defence Support to QLD and NSW Being Delivered Under Operation Flood Assist 2022


ADA -Vic would like to acknowledge the support being provided by the Australian Defence Forces to flood stricken areas in NSW and Queensland.

There are currently 1,600 ADF personnel deployed in Queensland and more than 5,400 in NSW. They are working across a range of search and rescue, clean up and recovery tasks to assist communities in recovering from this extraordinary disaster.
Multi-billion Dollar Large Ship Infrastructure
for WA



The Morrison Government will invest up to $4.3 billion to deliver Western Australia’s first large-vessel dry berth, creating a world-class precinct at the Henderson shipyard and supporting thousands of local jobs.

The Henderson dry-dock will enable the construction and sustainment of large naval vessels in Australia and support an even stronger commercial shipbuilding and sustainment market in Western Australia.

Government-owned Australian Naval Infrastructure will oversee the design and build of this nation building infrastructure, with work to start in 2023 and initial operations to commence in 2028.
Government Announces Campaign Promoting Jobs in Australian Defence Industry
The Morrison Government is demonstrating its commitment to supporting the growth of one of Australia’s most important industries by launching a major campaign on the 14th March 2022 highlighting a generation of jobs in Australia’s defence industries.

The “In our own backyard” campaign will begin on television, radio and across social media over the coming days and weeks.

The campaign highlights that the skills Australians have displayed for generations building “stuff” in their backyards are now in great demand to fill the jobs in our growing defence industries, which supply the Australian Defence Force with the products and services it needs to protect Australia and its national interests.

Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said Australia’s defence capability required robust, resilient and internationally competitive defence industries.
2022 Australian Defence Sales Catalogue Released

The sixth edition of the Australian Defence Sales Catalogue was released on the 11th March 2022, showcasing the range of cutting-edge products, technologies, and services available for export from Australia’s world-class defence industry sector.
The Catalogue is a key export marketing tool for facilitating foreign government interest in the Australian defence industry sector.

Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said the Catalogue highlighted the strength and breadth of the Australian defence industry sector

The Catalogue is available as a mobile and web app.

      Australian Defence Export Office Pitch Training Program

      The ADEO, in partnership with Marketing Entourage, have created a five week online pitch training program specifically for businesses looking to export defence and dual use goods and services. This training is fully subsidised for Australian Defence Industry businesses.

      The program is specifically designed to improve the chances of success for Australian defence industry companies when engaging with opportunities to pitch their capabilities to foreign military and military suppliers. The training is delivered through a series of webinars, online modules and one-to-one pitch practice sessions.

      Australian Defence Industry businesses are encouraged to apply by registering their interest at the link below. Multiple people from the same business can be included as a single application. Limited spaces are available on each cohort and the ADEO will prioritise businesses who have recently participated in an industry delegation with TDA.


      BAE Systems Hunter Class Opportunities

      BAE Systems Maritime Australia’s Innovation team is seeking Expressions of Interest from industry to support the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) to:

      • Investigate manufacturing technologies, materials, coatings, and processes with the potential to improve the sail away performance of the nine Hunter class frigates;
      • Investigate infrastructure, the workforce, and shipyard capabilities to ensure the Osborne Naval Shipyard maintains high levels of productivity, quality and safety; and,
      • Investigate ongoing maintenance or future capability upgrades that may immediately influence the design and delivery of the nine Hunter Frigates to be built at the Osborne Naval Shipyard in South Australia.

      The team will evaluate submissions quarterly - with feedback - until June 2022.

      Each EOI reviewed by the Hunter Innovation Team may be considered for future steps including a Request for Information (RFI) and/or Request for Proposal (RFP). This may lead to a  an agreement for a scope of work which could be in the form of a Research Task, Case Study; Feasibility Studies; Proof of Concept; Prototyping; or other agreed scope of work.

      Australian Manufacturing Week (AMW) is Australia’s premier manufacturing solutions event, an industry exhibition encompassing all aspects of manufacturing today. AMW will next be held in Sydney from 7-10 June 2022 at the International Convention Centre Sydney in Darling Harbour.
      The inaugural Australian Defence Science, Technology and Research Summit (ADSTAR) will be held in Sydney from 20 to 22 July 2022.

      Hosted by Defence Science and Technology Group on behalf of the Department of Defence, the summit will bring people together from across the research and innovation sector. Participants will share ideas with a view to enhancing capability for the Australian Defence Force.
