ADA 2022 Annual Networking Day
Friday, 9th December 2022

Head of Land Systems, MAJGEN Andrew Bottrell will be one of the main speakers at our annual networking event. He will provide an update on the various Land projects. This will provide an insight for SMEs wishing to enter Defence Industry supply chains. Other speakers, including those from primes, will also be attending and providing updates on various projects.

This event will consist of a morning session of networking and industry briefings, set amongst an amazing backdrop with morning tea and lunch.

Medway Golf Club is located only 20min drive west of Melbourne CBD and free parking is available.

There are two separate sessions. If you are time poor you can come along to the morning session only. This session will include coffee and teas on arrival, prior to the main speakers, a mid morning catered break and a full buffet lunch. All great opportunities to mingle and network!

For the golfers (or non golfers!) who would like to continue networking, the afternoon is also available to continue meeting others in the Defence Industry. There will be an Ambrose golf competition in the afternoon followed by a BBQ and drinks right after the golf. Non-golfers are very welcome to attend.

This event was a huge success last year and we would encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment as numbers are limited.

Also, if you are interested in promoting your business, there are various sponsorship options for the day. These range from displaying your name and logo to speaking slots providing members information on the capabilities of your organisation.

These sponsorships packages are very reasonably priced and are a cost effective way of promoting your business.

$100 Million Defence Contract with BAE Systems Signed

The Australian Government has signed a Facility Services Deed worth more than $100 million with BAE Systems Australia to expand the F-35A depot maintenance capability at Newcastle Airport.

This Deed will see the expansion from two to six maintenance bays, enabling BAE Systems Australia to progressively meet the forecasted service and maintenance demand for Australia’s F-35A Lightning II fleet.

Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Pat Conroy MP said this expansion will be accompanied with an increase in workforce in the Hunter, as the sustainment phase for the F-35 program continues to be established.
Update on Defence's Projects of Concern List

The Australian Government has approved the addition of one defence capability project and the removal of another project from Defence’s Projects of Concern list.

The Minister for Defence Industry, the Hon Pat Conroy MP, confirmed the removal of the Deployable Defence Air Traffic Management and Control System and the listing of the Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System as a Project of Concern.

Minister Conroy thanked Indra Australia for its commitment to remediating the Deployable Defence Air Traffic Management and Control System project.

The removal of this project reflects Indra’s ongoing collaboration with Defence to obtain the best possible capability outcomes for the ADF.

Indra Australia’s delivery continues to progress well despite minor delays beyond the company’s control, primarily COVID-related. The third and final mission system is on track for delivery to Defence in October 2022.

The Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System project has been listed as a Project of Concern because of significant schedule, technical and cost challenges.

This project is delivering a joint Civil-Military Air Traffic Management System which will support civil and military operations including at 12 ADF air bases around Australia.

The project has seen a two-year delay to forecast Initial and Final Operational Capability in the past two years.
