This industry briefing is with the Director Robotics, Autonomous Systems and Artificial Intelligence (RAS-AI) Warfare Innovation Navy, Navy Capability Division.

It is a formal briefing, where interested companies must register through the Austender portal with the button below. ITR documents can be downloaded there also.

Currently the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is conducting an audit of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP), more (here) and have requested that we seek feedback on the DISP.

If you are affected by challenges with the DISP and have some feedback on the performance of the how DISP works please contact us and let us know your thoughts so that we can advocate to Defence and Government about your concerns.

Industry Opportunities & Work Packages
Funding - Global Gateway Program
Calling established Victorian exporters –  the Global Gateway program is now accepting applications.

Eligible Victorian businesses who can show an annual export revenue  of $2 million in either the 2018/19 or 2019/20 financial years can can apply for a one-off grant of up to $50,000 to stabilise their business  and adapt export strategies in response to the challenges caused  by coronavirus (COVID-19).

Delivered by Global Victoria – the Victorian Government’s trade agency – the program provides flexibility for grant recipients to identify and engage a domestic or international professional service provider to deliver strategic solutions for their business needs.

Projects can help businesses facilitate new channels to market or diversification of markets, and to help them with activities including market intelligence, market access and marketing and promotion.

Eligible businesses interested in applying and discussing a project can contact the Global Gateway team by emailing global.gateway@global.vic.gov.au. Businesses will be connected to a Global Victoria representative based on sector focus or market of interest.

The Hunter Class Frigate Program’s Innovation Program Seeks Industry Participation Now – Launches Second Innovation Challenge

The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) is calling on all innovative Australian companies to submit proposals for Phase 1 of the ‘Digital Safety Innovation Challenge’ via the Industry Capability Network (ICN) Portal.

Successful applicants will be awarded up to $100,000 for Phase 1 of the challenge and have the opportunity to test and demonstrate their innovative technologies in collaboration with our Research and Technology team at the purpose-built Line Zero – Pilot Factory of the Future facility, located within Tonsley Innovation District in Adelaide’s south.

Joint Strike Fighter
Sustainment Grants
Open Now!
The Joint Strike Fighter Industry Support Program - Sustainment Grants opened at 8:00 am this morning.

This grant program provides Australian businesses with funding to develop new or improved capabilities to win work in the sustainment phase of the Joint Strike Fighter Program.

The grant opportunity is to support Assigned-Product Support Providers (A-PSPs) to develop and implement their approved Depot Maintenance Activation Plan (DMAP). Through their plan they'll become a Qualified F-35 Component Depot Source of Repair (DSOR) for maintenance and repair activities for existing components used in the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF).

Grants from $50,000 up to $250,000 are available to fund up to 50% of eligible project expenditure for phase 1 and 2. Phase 3 and 4 funding will be determined by the Department of Defence in accordance with the amount outlined in applicants supporting business cases.

Funding to build space payload qualification capability
and capacity in Australia

The Space Payload Qualification Facilities grant provides an Australian company or research institution with $2.5 million for the development of space payload qualification facilities to meet the needs of the Australian space industry.

Close date: 23 Dec 2020 05:00 PM AEDT.

What do you get?
Up to $2.5 million for up to 75% of your space payload qualification project costs.

Who is this for?

A single grant will be given to an Australian company or research institution who can provide high-level space qualification facilities in Australia.
Defence seeks
experienced
satellite mission integrator

Defence
is seeking expressions of interest for an
experienced satellite mission integrator for Defence Science and Technology (DST) project.

Secure Common User Facility
for Victoria

Located in the Melbourne CBD, the Victorian Common User Facility (VCUF) allows appropriately-cleared personnel to access Defence secure networks, and provides secure offices and work areas for undertaking limited-duration activities such as meetings, bid preparation, and small-scale experiments.

The VCUF is an initiative to facilitate enhanced engagement by Victorian businesses and the innovation community with Defence and National Security programs.  This unique facility is the first of its type in Australia.

The facility has reached Initial Operating Capability, and is now available for use by Victorian businesses.

Normally, access to the facilities is on an annual subscription basis, however due to the current COVID-19 restrictions the facility is being made available free of charge until February 2021, as a measure to assist Victorian industry recover during these challenging times.

This is an outstanding offer that stands to significantly add value and capabilities to SME needing access to secure collaboration facilities.

New Work Packages Announced for SEA 1000

  • Individual packages worth up to $900M
In the first of many local packages to be offered throughout the life of the 50-year program, these specialised pieces of equipment include the steering gear system, weapons handling system and main shaft line, and will support hundreds of Australian jobs.

Naval Group has officially launched its first ‘Local Manufacturing Package’ expression of interest (EOI) to Australian industry – part of a package expected to be worth almost $900 million, with the company also opening its office at Port Adelaide.
