The Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grants
Hi there,

Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price announced more than $8 million in support to 11 Australian businesses through the latest round of Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority (SICP) grants.

The grants are expected to improve domestic manufacturing capabilities, which helps build Australia’s sovereign industrial capacity to support the ADF.

Since the grants program’s inception in November 2018, 99 grants have been awarded to Australian small and medium businesses, with a combined value of $55.6 million.

ADA-Vic would like to acknolwedge and congratulate the Victorian companies who were awarded the grant: Diamond Defence Pty Ltd, Moog Australia, Varley Rafael Australia, Australian Precision Technologies Pty Ltd, Able Industries Engineering Pty Ltd, GW Kewder Engineering Pty Ltd and Campagno Engineering Pty Ltd.

Another win for the Victorian Defence Industry!

Announcements
TDA - EOI now open for AUSA 2021

Due to the overwhelming success of Sea-Air-Space 2021, Team Defence Australia (TDA) have received many more requests to participate at AUSA 2021. Therefore, TDA have reopened EOI’s for AUSA 2021 till 29 August 2021.

TDA is planning to take an Australian Defence Industry delegation to AUSA 2021 in Washington DC, USA from 11-13 October 2021. Interested companies can apply to attend by completing the EOI form by Sunday, 1 August 2021, through ICN webpage here.

Following on from information promulgated with previous EOI’s for DSEI and Sea-Air-Space, TDA are continually looking to support Australian companies at international defence tradeshows in 2021. TDA are investigating all options to support Australian defence industry at international tradeshows if and where possible.

Aligned with the Government's advice, Defence does not promote people to leave Australia, even for business, until the risks from the pandemic reduce. As such, TDA cannot accept company representatives travelling to or from Australia whose primary purpose for travel is to attend a tradeshow as part of a TDA delegation. This advice extends to Australian government employees, and we will be relying on support from staff posted to the Australian Embassy in Washington and Austrade personnel.

To be considered for inclusion in the TDA delegation, companies intending to travel from Australia will be required to provide additional information during the EOI process regarding their planned travel/business around this activity. In addition to this requirement, companies looking to travel from Australia will need to consider the risks associated with, but not limited to, the availability and cost of international flights, reduced international traveller intake and government quarantine requirements.
The Defence + Industry Conference

From the D+I Conference Team

Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic and the current restrictions in place across a large portion of Australia, a decision has been made to defer the D+I Conference and Awards which were scheduled for July 2021.

The team are busy working to confirm arrangements for the new D+I dates during the first week of October 2021 (5-7 October).

Please put these new dates in your diary and keep your eye out for any updates as the program firms up and the website opens for registrations.

We appreciate your patience and understanding of this change and we look forward to seeing you back in the Nation’s Capital for D+I 2021 in October.
